The University of Delhi (DU), is a collegiate public central university located in New Delhi, India. It was founded in 1922 by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly and is recognized as an Institute of Eminence (IoE) by the University Grants Commission (UGC). As a collegiate university, its main functions are divided between the academic departments of the university and constituent colleges. Consisting of three colleges, two faculties, and 750 students at its founding, the University of Delhi has since become India’s largest institution of higher learning and among the largest in the world. The university has 16 faculties and 86 departments distributed across its North and South campuses. It has 77 constituent colleges and five other institutes. The Vice President of India serves as the university chancellor.
The university has grown into one of the largest universities in India. There are 16 faculties, 86 academic departments, 77 colleges and 5 other institutes spread across city, with 132,435 regular students (114,494 undergraduates and 17,941 postgraduates). There are 261,169 students in non-formal education programmes (258,831 undergraduates and 2,338 postgraduates). DU’s chemistry, geology, zoology, sociology and history departments have been awarded the status of Centres of Advanced Studies. In addition, a number of the university’s departments receive grants under the Special Assistance Programme of the University Grants Commission in recognition of their outstanding academic work. DU is one of the most sought atier institutions of higher education in India.

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is a prestigious public technical and research university located in Powai, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. IIT Bombay was founded in 1958. In 1961, the Parliament decreed IITs as Institutes of National Importance. A committee formed by the Government of India recommended the establishment of four higher institutes of technology to set the direction for the development of technical education in the country in 1946. Planning began in 1957 and the first batch of 100 students was admitted in 1958. Since its establishment in Powai, the institute has physically expanded to include more than 584 major buildings with a combined area of more than 2.2 square kilometers.
IIT Bombay is the most reputed and the most competitive institute in India to get into and has been the first preferred destination of top rank holders in the science and engineering disciplines. It is known for its 4 Year, 5 Year & 2 Year programmes for which the entry is through the Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced, Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Degrees offered include: Bachelor of Technology, Four Year Bachelor of Science, Two Year Master of Science, Five Year IDDDP (Inter-Disciplinary Dual Degree Programme), 2 or 3 Year Master of Technology, and a few others. It also has a comprehensive graduate program offering doctoral degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It currently has a total of 15 academic departments, 20 centres, a school of excellence and four interdisciplinary programs including a Management Program.

Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) is a public technical university located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India under the Institutes of Technology Act. Established in 1959 as one of the first Indian Institutes of Technology, the institute was created with the assistance of a consortium of nine US research universities as part of the Kanpur Indo-American Programme (KIAP). IIT Kanpur is located on the Grand Trunk Road, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) west of Kanpur City and measures close to 420 hectares (1,000 acres). This land was donated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1960 and by March 1963 the institute had moved to its current location. The institute has around 6478 students with 3938 undergraduate students and 2540 postgraduate students and about 500 research+ associates.
IT Kanpur offers four-year BTech programs in Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bio-engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. IIT Kanpur also offers four-year B.S. Programs in Pure and Applied Sciences (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in particular), Earth Science and Economics. Internationally, IIT Kanpur was ranked 277 in QS World University Rankings for 2022. It was ranked 65 in QS Asia Rankings 2020 and 25 among BRICS nations in 2019. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked it 601–800 globally in the 2020 ranking 125 in Asia and 77 among Emerging Economies University Rankings 2020.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is a public technical university located in Chennai (formerly named as Madras), Tamil Nadu, India. As one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), it is recognized as an Institute of National Importance, and has been consistently rated as one of India’s most prestigious universities. Founded in 1959 with technical and financial assistance from the former government of West Germany, it was the third IIT established by the Government of India. IIT Madras is ranked the top engineering institute in India by the Ministry of Education’s National Institutional Ranking Framework since its inception in 2016.
IT Madras is a residential institute that occupies a 2.5-square-kilometre (0.97 sq mi) campus that was formerly part of the adjoining Guindy National Park. The institute has nearly 600 faculty, 10,000 students and 1,250 administrative and supporting staff. Growing ever since it obtained its charter from the Indian Parliament in 1961, much of the campus is a protected forest, carved out of the Guindy National Park, home to large numbers of chital (spotted deer), black buck, bonnet macaque, and other rare wildlife. A natural lake, deepened in 1988 and 2003, drains most of its rainwater.
IIT Madras offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees across 16 disciplines in Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Management. About 360 faculty belonging to science and engineering departments and centres of the Institute are engaged in teaching, research and industrial consultancy.

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is a public technical university located in Hauz Khas in South Delhi, Delhi, India. It is one of the oldest Indian Institutes of Technology in India. Established in 1961, was formally inaugurated in August 1961 by Prof. Humayun Kabir, Minister of Scientific Research & Cultural A airs. First admissions were made in 1961. The current campus has an area of 320 acres (or 1.3 km2) and is bounded by the Sri Aurobindo Marg on the east, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Complex on the west, the National Council of Educational Research and Training on the south, and the New Ring Road on the north, and flanked by Qutub Minar and the Hauz Khas monuments.
Internationally, IIT Delhi was ranked 185 in the QS World University Rankings of 2022 and 54 in QS Engineering and Technology subject rankings of 2021. The same rankings ranked it 43 in Asia in 2020 and 18 among BRICS nations in 2019. It was ranked 401–500 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2020, 67 in Asia and 38 among Emerging Economies University Rankings in 2020. IIT Delhi ranked first among government engineering colleges in India by India Today in 2020. It ranked second among engineering colleges by Outlook India in 2019 and first by The Week in 2019. It ranked second among engineering colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2020 and 2021. It ranked third and fourth in overall universities in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The Department of Management Studies ranked 8th among management schools in India by NIRF in 2020, 17th by Business Today’s “India’s best B-schools 2019”

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) is a public technical university established by the government of India in Kharagpur, West Bengal, India. Established in 1951, the institute is the first of the IITs to be established and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance. In 2019 it was awarded the status of Institute of Eminence by the Government of India.
Institute was initially established to train engineers after India attained independence in 1947. However, over the years, the institute’s academic capabilities diversified with offerings in management, law, architecture, humanities, etc. IIT Kharagpur has an 8.7-square-kilometre (2,100-acre) campus and has about 22,000 residents.
Internationally, IIT Kharagpur was ranked 281 in the QS World University Rankings of 2020, 56 in Asia in 2020 and 23 among BRICS nations in 2019. It was ranked 401–500 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2020, 59 in the Emerging Economies University Rankings of 2020 and 32 in Asia in 2020. In India, IIT Kharagpur ranked 3rd among government engineering colleges by India Today in 2020, 4th among engineering colleges by Outlook India in 2019 and fifth among engineering colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2020, which also ranked it fifth overall. The architecture department was ranked first among all architecture colleges in India by NIRF in 2020, Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law was ranked fourth among law schools and Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM) was ranked fifth among management schools.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a public, deemed, research university for higher education and research in science, engineering, design, and management. It is located in Bengaluru, in the Indian state of Karnataka. The institute was established in 1909 with active support from Jamsetji Tata and thus is also locally known as the “Tata Institute”. It is ranked among the most prestigious academic institutions in India and has the highest citation per faculty among all the universities in the world. It was granted the deemed to be university status in 1958 and the Institute of Eminence status in 2018.
The IISc campus is located in the north of Bangalore, about 6 kilometers from Bangalore City Railway Station and Kempegowda Bus Station, on the way to Yeshwantpur. The institute is about 35 kilometers from Kempegowda International Airport. A number of other research institutes, Raman Research Institute, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Wood Research Institute and Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), are close to IISc. Most of these institutes are connected to IISc by a regular shuZle bus service. QS World University rankings ranked IISc second in the world in terms of citations per faculty, IISc was ranked 301–350 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2021, the top institute in India, as well as 36th in the 2020 Asia University Rankings. The 2021 QS World University Rankings ranked IISc 185th in the world, as well as 51 in Asia University Rankings and 10th among BRICS nations.

Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is a collegiate public state university located in the city of Pune, India. It was established in 1949, and is spread over a 411 acres (1.66 km2) campus in the neighbourhood of Ganeshkhind. The institution’s name was changed from the University of Pune to Savitribai Phule Pune University on 9 August 2014 in honor of Savitribai Phule, the 19th century Indian social reformer who played an important role in improving the lives of women and the Dalit communities in Maharashtra during British colonial rule. She and her husband Mahatma Jyotiba Phule founded India’s first native-run school for girls in 1848. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is a private deemed university located in Vellore, India. Founded in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College by G. Viswanathan, the institution offers 64 Undergraduate, 35 Postgraduate, 16 Integrated, 2 Research and 2 M.Tech Industrial Programmes. It has campuses in Vellore and Chennai and sister universities in Amaravati and Bhopal.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is a private deemed university located in Manipal, India. The university also has campuses in Mangalore, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, Malacca and Dubai. As of 2021, Manipal offers more than 350 programs across 30 disciplines and ranks 7th among Indian universities.

The campus at Manipal covers 600 acres (2.4 km2) of land and is centered in the university town of Manipal. It is divided into the health sciences campus and the MIT campus. Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (ANDUAT), formerly Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (NDUaT), is a university located in Kumarganj, Uttar Pradesh, India, established in 1975. It is named after the politician and educator Narendra Deva, who served as vice chancellor of the University of Lucknow and Banaras Hindu University. It has constituent colleges in Ambedkar Nagar district and Azamgarh district.
The foundation stone of was laid on 15 January 1974, by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Mashodha near Faizabad. Laxmi Narain Rai was the first officer on special duty, succeeded by A.S. Srivastava in October 1974 and by the first vice-chancellor, A.D. Pandey in October 1975. In the same year the government of Uttar Pradesh decided that the main campus of the university would be established at Kumarganj, (Faizabad) Ayodhya instead of Mashodha. The university started functioning in a borrowed building of Gram Swalabi Vidyalaya Acharya Nagar, Naka, Faizabad.

Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani) is a private deemed university in Pilani, India. It focuses primarily on higher education and research in engineering and sciences. Anna University is a public state university located in Tamil Nadu, India. The main campus is in Chennai. It was originally established on 4 September 1978 and was named after C. N. Annadurai, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Anna University (Chennai) comprises four colleges – The College of Engineering (CEG, Guindy Campus), The Alagappa College of Technology (ACT, Guindy Campus), The Madras Institute of Technology (MIT, Chromepet Campus) and The School of Architecture and Planning (SAP, Guindy Campus).
The university offers courses in engineering and technology through its affiliated colleges and follows a dual semester system. Every year the university conducts examinations for even semester in May–June and for odd semester in November December. The first semester students have exams in January. In 2011 and 2012 the constituents were merged back to a single affiliating university and the four regional universities continue to function as regional campus of the university.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a private university situated in Chaheru, Phagwara, Punjab, India. The university was established in 2005 by Lovely International Trust, under The Lovely Professional University Act, 2005 (Punjab Act 25 of 2005) and started operation in 2006. The university campus spreads over 600 acres in boundary on the outskirts of Jalandhar and houses 30,000 students (as of 2020).
The National Institutional Ranking Framework ranked Lovely Professional University 81st overall, and 62nd among universities. It also ranked it 37th in management, 23rd in pharmacy, 66th in engineering , 24th in law and 12th in architecture ranking in India. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi (AIIMS, New Delhi) is a public hospital and medical research university based in New Delhi, India. The institute is governed by the AIIMS Act, 1956 and operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. AIIMS is the first Indian center to perform a successful cardiac transplant. The surgery was performed by P Venugopal, the ex-director of AIIMS in 1994. AIIMS is an advanced center of stem cell therapy in India, especially cardiac and neurological. It holds a reputation of being a pioneer in stem cell injecion. AIIMS has India’s first and only minimally invasive surgery training center, under collaboration with Germany. Internationally, AIIMS New Delhi was ranked 23 in the world in the 2020 category of Life Sciences and Medicine and 24 in the category of Medicine by QS WUR as well as first in Asia in 2020 in the category of Life Sciences and Medicine. It also features in the World’s Best Hospitals 2020 – Top 100 by Newsweek.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology is a private deemed university in Kattankulathur, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, India, near Chennai. It was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur. SRM Institute of Science and Technology includes seven campuses, three in Tamil Nadu — Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani, one in NCR Delhi, all 4 of which come under ‘SRM IST, Chennai’. The other 3 campuses include one in Sikkim, one in Sonipat and one in Amaravati. There are about 50,000 students studying in SRM.
The QS World University Rankings ranked SRM Institute of Science and Technology 301–350 in Asia in 2020. SRM Institute of Science and Technology ranked 29 among engineering colleges in India by India Today in 2020. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked it 34 in the engineering ranking in 2021, 15 in the pharmacy ranking, 30 among universities and 53 overall.

Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is a public deemed research university located in Mumbai, India that is dedicated to basic research in mathematics and the sciences. It is a Deemed University and works under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India. It is located at Navy Nagar, Colaba, Mumbai, with an affiliated campus in Serilingampally near Hyderabad. TIFR conducts research primarily in the natural sciences, mathematics, the biological sciences and theoretical computer science. Research at TIFR is distributed across three schools, working over the mathematical sciences, natural sciences, technology and computer science.
In 1944, Homi J. Bhabha, known for his role in the development of the Indian atomic energy programme, wrote to the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust requesting financial assistance to set up a scientific research institute. With support from J.R.D. Tata, then chairman of the Tata Group, TIFR was founded on 1 June 1945, and Homi Bhabha was appointed its first director.

The University of Mumbai, informally known as Mumbai University (MU), is a collegiate public state university located in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The University of Mumbai is one of the largest universities in the world. As of 2013, the university had 711 affiliated colleges. Ratan Tata is the appointed head of Mumbai University’s advisory council. The University of Bombay was established in 1857 after the presentation of a petition from the Bombay Association to the British colonial government in India. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) is a public technical university established by the Government of India, located in Amingaon area, North Guwahati city, in the state of Assam in India. It is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology established in India. IIT Guwahati is officially recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the government of India. IIT Guwahati has been ranked 7th in Engineering and 8th in Overall category in NIRF India Rankings 2021.
Internationally, IIT Guwahati was ranked 395 in the QS World University Rankings of 2022. The same rankings ranked it 117 in Asia in 2021 and 48 among BRICS nations in 2019. It was ranked 601–800 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2020, 160 in Asia and 152 among Emerging Economies in 2020. In India, among engineering colleges, it ranked 6th by India Today in 2020 and 6th by The Week overall in 2019 . Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is a multi-campus public research university in Mumbai, India. It is Asia’s oldest institute for professional social work education and was founded in 1936 in then Bombay Presidency of British India as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. In 1944, the institute was officially renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and in 1964, the Government of India declared TISS as deemed university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.
TISS’s academic programs focus on the social sciences and offers doctoral degrees in Management and Labour Studies, Disaster Studies, Development Studies, Education, Gender Studies, Health Studies, Law, Media and Cultural Studies, Public Policy, Rural Development and Social Work. There are four campuses of TISS, located in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad and Guwahati.

Chandigarh University (CU)is a private deemed university located in Mohali, Punjab, India. The university was established on 10 July 2012 by an act of Punjab State Legislature. Chandigarh University has been accredited ‘A+’ by NAAC in 2019. Chandigarh University offers various undergraduate, post-graduate and doctorate degrees in various disciplines including engineering, management, computing, cognitive sciences, education, animation and multimedia, tourism, pharma sciences, biotechnology, architecture, commerce, legal studies, agricultural science, media studies, liberal arts and basic sciences. The university offers more than 200 programmes based on the Flexible Choice Based Credit System (FCBCS). The National Institutional Ranking Framework has ranked Chandigarh University 77 in the overall rankings, 52 in the universities rankings, 61 in the engineering category, 45 in the management category, 51 in the pharmacy category, and 16 in the architecture category, as per the rankings released in September 2021.

The University of Lucknow (informally known as Lucknow University, and LU) is a public state university based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Founded in 1867, the University of Lucknow is one of the oldest government owned institutions of higher education in India. LU’s main campus is located at Badshah Bagh, University Road area of the city with a second campus at Jankipuram. LU is a teaching, residential and affiliating university, organized into more than 500 colleges and 17 institutes, located throughout the city and other surrounding areas, covering 4 districts: Raebareli, Hardoi, Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri.
During the past 20 years, there has been an extension of the University Campus. This is borne out by the fact that a huge and majestic building, as part of the New Campus, has been constructed on 75 acres of land provided by the State Government on Sitapur Road near the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is the state agricultural university of Tamil Nadu located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University had its genesis from establishment of an agricultural school at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, as early as 1868 which was later relocated at Coimbatore during 1906. In 1920 it was affiliated to Madras University. TNAU assumed full responsibilities of Agricultural Education and Research and supported the State Agricultural Department by delivering research products. In 1958, it was recognized as a post-graduate center and began to offer masters and doctoral degrees.
The university offers 13 undergraduate programs, 40 graduate programs and 27 doctoral programs. As the university switched over to the e-learning from the academic year 2007, it was made compulsory for first-year students to procure personal laptops. Internationally, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University was ranked 130 among BRICS nations by the QS World University Rankings of 2019.

Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is a higher education and Research institute which is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the 1959 act of the Indian parliament. It grew out of the Statistical Laboratory set up by Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis in Presidency College, Kolkata. Established in 1931, this unique institution of India is one of the oldest institutions focused on statistics, and its early reputation led it to being adopted as a model for the first US institute of Statistics set up at the Research Triangle, North Carolina by Gertrude Mary Cox.
Mahalanobis, the founder of ISI, was deeply influenced by wisdom and guidance of Rabindranath Tagore and Brajendranath Seal. The institute is now considered one of the foremost centres in the world for training and research in Computer science, Statistics, Quantitative Economics and related sciences. ISI has its headquarters in Bonhooghly (Baranagar). It has four subsidiary centres focused in academics at Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Tezpur, and a branch at Giridih.

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences is a medical institution in Bangalore, India. NIMHANS is the apex centre for mental health and neuroscience education in the country. It is an Institute of National Importance operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences has been ranked 4th best medical institution in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework medical ranking for 2021.
NIMHANS has five campuses in the city, spread over an area of 174 acres of urban establishments, which includes 30 acres of an under-construction Bangalore North campus. NIMHANS has a strong alumni network of medical scientists and doctors, taking over many prestigious positions across the world. Some of the prominent people associated with the institute include clinical psychologists.

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) is a public technical university located in Roorkee, Haridwar district, Uttarakhand, India, headed by Director Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi. It was formerly known as University of Roorkee (1949–2001) and Thomason College of Civil Engineering (1847– 1949). Established in 1847 in British India by the then lieutenant governor, Sir James Thomason, it is the oldest technical institution in Asia. It was given university status in 1949 and was converted into an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2001, thus becoming the seventh IIT to be declared. IIT Roorkee has 22 academic departments covering Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management programs with a strong emphasis on scientific and technological education and research. Internationally, IIT Roorkee was ranked 387 in the QS World University Rankings of 2021. The same rankings ranked it 90 in Asia in 2020 and 47 among BRICS nations in 2019.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), formerly Central Hindu College, is a collegiate central university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1916 jointly by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, the Maharaja of Darbhanga Rameshwar Singh, Maharaja of Banaras Prabhu Narayan Singh, Sunder Lal and British Theosophist and Home Rule League founder Annie Besant. With over 30,000 students residing on campus, it is one of the largest residential university in Asia. The university is one of the ten public universities declared as an Institutes of Eminence.
BHU is organized into six institutes and 14 faculties (streams) and about 140 departments. As of 2020, the total student enrolment at the university is 30,698 coming from 48 countries. It has over 65 hostels for resident students. Several of its faculties and institutes include Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce, Management Studies, Science, Performing Arts, Law, Agricultural Science, Medical Science, and others.

Panjab University (PU) is a collegiate public state university located in Chandigarh, India. Funded through both State and Union governments, it is considered a state university. It traces its origins to the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882. After the partition of India, the University of the Punjab was divided into two distinct institutions, one in each of the two separate nations, with the Indian university inivally called East Punjab University (EPU), in Shimla. It relocated to Chandigarh on October 1, 1947, and was renamed Panjab University.
The university has 78 teaching and research departments and 10 centres/chairs for teaching and research at the main campus located at Chandigarh. It has 188 affiliated colleges spread over the eight districts of Punjab state and union-territory of Chandigarh, It is one of the well-ranked universities in India. The campus is residential, spread over 550 acres (220 ha).

Bangalore University (BU) is a public state university located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The university is a part of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and affiliated by University Grants Commission (UGC). Bangalore University is accredited by the NAAC with grade A in 2016 under the new grading system. Bangalore University was trifurcated into Bengaluru City University and Bengaluru North University.
Bangalore University lists 70 government colleges, 52 aided colleges and 11 unaided colleges. Notable affiliated colleges. The university is structured into six faculties- Arts, Science, Commerce & Management, Education, Law and Engineering. It has 43 Post Graduate Departments, a Postgraduate Centre at Kolar, (Started during 1994-95), three constituent colleges, 665 affiliated colleges (of which 115 have PG Courses). The QS World University Rankings ranked Bangalore University 351-400 in Asia in 2020. The NIRF ranked it 100th overall and 68th among universities.

CHRIST (Deemed to be University), is a deemed to be university in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Founded in 1969 as Christ College, the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India conferred autonomy to Christ College in 2004. On 22 July 2008 it was declared as an institution deemed to be university under sec‑on 3 of UGC Act 1956 by the Ministry of Education (India). The university is under the management of the priests of the Catholic religious order, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), part of Syro Malabar Major Archiepiscopal Church. In 2016, the University was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council with A Grade.
The University has over 20,000 students and more than 800 faculty members. It has a foreign student community of about 700 from 58 nationalities. The university offers nationally and internationally recognised undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes. According to the QS India rankings for 2020, Christ is positioned 80-85.

The University of Madras is a public state university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1857, it is one of the oldest universities in India, incorporated by an Act of Legislative Council of India under the British government. It is a collegiate research university and has six campuses in the city: Chepauk, Marina, Guindy, Taramani, Maduravoyal and Chetpet. It offers more than 230 courses under 87 academic departments of post-graduate teaching and research grouped under 18 schools, covering diverse areas such as sciences, social sciences, humanities, management and medicine along with 121 affiliated colleges and 53 approved research institutions.
University of Madras is the alma mater of two Indian Physics Nobel Laureates, CV Raman and Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, five Presidents of India, including A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, computer scientist and Turing Award winner Raj Reddy, several notable mathematicians including Srinivasa Ramanujan and Abel Prize winner S. R. Srinivasa Varadhan.

National Institute of Design or (NIDs) are autonomous public design schools located across India. NIDs are in Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Gandhinagar (Gujarat), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Kurukshetra (Haryana) , Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) and Jorhat (Assam) and Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh). The institutes functions as an autonomous body under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry , Government of India. NIDs are recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under Ministry of Science and Technology, the government of India, as a scientific and industrial design research organisation.
The courses available to join at various campuses of NID include Bachelor of Design (Bdes), Graduate Diploma Program in Design (GDPD), Masters of Design (MDes), Doctorate of Philosophy(PhD) in Design, Foundation Courses are UG courses and International Programs through Research and International workshops.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), is a state government run affiliating university in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University through the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 8 May 2000. To reduce workload and to ensure proper management, the university was bifurcated into separate universities, Gautam Buddh Technical University (GBTU) and Mahamaya Technical University (MTU). It is an affiliating university, with approximately 800 colleges affiliated to it. The university was earlier on the IET Lucknow campus. Now it is in its newly inaugurated campus in Jankipuram, Lucknow. Additionally, the university had a Centre and Regional Office in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The university is affiliating in nature and its jurisdiction spanned the state of Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the largest technical universities in India and perhaps in Asia. AKTU offers undergraduate courses in engineering, architecture, hotel management, fashion design, and pharmacy.

Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University is a university in India which came into existence by the Act of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 2002. The university is named after saint Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah.
The University campus is located at the foothills of the great Himalayan Pir Panjal range in Rajouri, 154 KM from Jammu, the Winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir union territory. It focuses on undergraduate engineering courses, a diverse post graduate courses and research in fields such as management, environment, biodiversity, bio-technology, computer sciences, information technology, and applied mathematics. Akbar Masood was appointed as Vice Chancellor on 13 February 2021.

Gujarat Technological University (International Innovative University), commonly referred as GTU, is a state university affiliating many engineering, pharmacy, and management colleges in Gujarat state, India. The university is headed by the state government and came into existence on 16 May 2007. Engineering institutes such as Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering, Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya, Vishwakarma Government Engineering College and many Government Engineering Colleges are a part of GTU.
Earlier, Gujarat University was the prime university of Gujarat state heading all colleges including technical colleges. To ensure more efficient, and systematic imparting of technical education, the state government formulated GTU. GTU declares results all around from February to April for winter exams and all around from June to August of summer exams. Currently 486 Colleges are affiliated to this GTU from across Gujarat with over 400,000 students.

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is an autonomous institute that offers courses in fashion, designing, technology, and management. Its head office is located in New Delhi, India. NIFT was established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It was declared as a statutory institute in 2006 and empowered to grant its own degree by the NIFT Act of the Indian Parliament. Along with the Ministry of Textiles, NIFT is in the process of creating a India specific size chart. The project was fully underway in 2021.
NIFT offers undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral programmes in design, management, and technology. NIFT currently has 17 campuses spread across the country. The first campus was established in 1986 in Haus Khaz, New Delhi. The campuses at Chennai, Kolkata, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, and Mumbai were set up in 1995, followed by the Bengaluru campus in 1997. The campus in Bhopal was set up in June 2008, Bhubaneshwar in 2010, Jodhpur in 2010.

, formerly Indraprastha University (IP or IPU), is a state university located in Delhi, India. It was established in 1998 as a teaching-cum-affiliating university. The university has 14 university schools(colleges of the university), 12 of them are on the campus in Dawarka and 2 schools, USAR and USDI are on the new East Delhi campus. There are 4 center within the university for research in Disaster Management Studies, Pharmaceutical Sciences (CEPS), Human Values & Ethics and a center for Incubation-cum-Technology Commercialization (UCITC). Three of these centers are in the campus in Dwarka while UCITC is in the East Delhi campus. There are more than 120 colleges affiliated to the university which are run according to the rules and regulation set by the university. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University was established on 28 March 1998 by the Govt. of NCT Delhi as a state university under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998 with its Amendment in 1999.

Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra (KUK) is a university established on 11 January 1956 in Kurukshetra, in the Indian state of Haryana, 160 kilometres (99 mi) from the capital, Delhi. It is a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities. The university was in 1956 as a unitary residential University. The Department of Sanskrit was the first and the only department in the university when it was inaugurated by Bharat Ratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of the Indian Republic. The idea of establishing university was conceived by then governor of Punjab, Chandeshwar Prasad Narayan Singh, a Sanskrit scholar.
Spread over 473 acres (1.91 km2), the KUK campus is located on the western bank of Brahma Sarovar in the Hindu holy city of Kurukshetra. The university was ranked 99 among universities in India by the NIRF in 2020. It was ranked at 68th position according to education world ranking 2020.

(VTU), is a collegiate public state university in Belagavi, Karnataka established by the Government of Karnataka. All colleges in the State of Karnataka imparting education in Engineering or Technology, except those that have the consent of VTU and sanction of the Government, are required to be affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The university is named after Sir M. Visvesvaraya, an Indian civil engineer, statesman and the 19th Diwan of Mysore.
VTU offers undergraduate engineering programs that award a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree. The university offers postgraduate programs that lead to Master of Technology (M.Tech.), Master of Science (MSc) by research, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and doctorate (Ph.D.). The MSc and Ph.D. are research degrees while the rest are taught degrees.

Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya,(CSK HPKV), is an agricultural university at Palampur in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It was established on 1 November 1978 as an expansion of the existing College of Agriculture established in May 1966. Hill agriculture is the focus of this university. The university is accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
The university offers both undergraduate and post-graduate courses. In UG courses, Bsc(hons) agriculture, Btech in food technology, Bsc in physical and life sciences, Bsc(hons) community science and Bvsc in veterinary and animal sciences are offered here. Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a state government-owned autonomous university in Kochi, Kerala, India. It was founded in 1971 and has three campuses: one in Kalamassery Kochi, one in Ernakulam Town, and one in Kuttanad, Alappuzha, 66 km (41 mi) inland. The university awards degrees in engineering and science at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.
CUSAT is structured into nine faculties: Science, Technology, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Humanities, Law, Marine Sciences, Medical Sciences and Technology, Social Sciences. The Cochin University College of Engineering, Kuttanad was established in 1999 and is owned by the Cochin University of Science and Technology. It is situated in a 42-acre campus in Pulincunnoo, Kuttanad, about 75 km away from the main campus at Thrikkakara. CUSAT was ranked in the 1001+ category by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2020 and in the 401+ category for Asia. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked it 62 among universities in India in 2020.

The University of Calcutta is a collegiate public state university located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It was established on 24 January 1857 and is the first multidisciplinary and Western-style institution in Asia. Today, the university’s jurisdiction is limited to a few districts of West Bengal, but at the time of establishment it had a catchment area, ranging from Lahore to Myanmar. Within India, it is recognized as a “Five-Star University” and accredited an “A” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The University of Calcutta was awarded the status of “Centre with Potential for Excellence in Particular Area” and “University with potential for excellence” by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university has a total of fourteen campuses spread over the city of Kolkata and its suburbs. As of 2020, 151 colleges and 21 institutes and centres are affiliated with it. The university was fourth in the Indian University Ranking 2021 list, released by the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the Ministry of Education of the Government of India.

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University is a public funded agricultural university located at Hisar in the Indian state of Haryana. It is the biggest agricultural university in Asia. The university has 8,645 acres (3,499 ha) of land (around 7,219 acres (2,921 ha) at main campus, 1,426 acres (577 ha) at outstations). It is named after India’s seventh Prime Minister, Chaudhary Charan Singh.
The university publishes the largest number of research papers among agricultural universities in India. It won the Indian Council of Agricultural Research’s Award for the Best Institute in 1997 and in 2017. It contributed significantly to Green Revolution and White Revolution in India. Golden Jubilee Year celebrations started in the university on 2 February 2019 and ended on 1 February 2020 marking the 50 glorious years of service towards mankind.

National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT Tiruchirappalli) is a public technical and research university near the city of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded as Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli in 1964 by the Governments of India and Tamil Nadu under the affiliation of the University of Madras. The college was granted Deemed University status in 2003 with the approval of the University Grants Commission, All India Council for Technical Education and Government of India and renamed as National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli. The university was declared as an Institute of National. NIT Trichy focuses exclusively on engineering, management, science, technology and architecture. The university offers 10 bachelor’s, 40 master’s and 17 doctoral programmes through its 17 academic departments and awards more than 1700 degrees annually. The NIRF has also ranked the university seventh for architecture, ninth for engineering in India in 2021.

National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT Rourkela or NITR), formerly Regional Engineering College, Rourkela is a publicly funded institute of higher learning for engineering, science and technology located in the steel city of Rourkela, Odisha, India. It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and has been recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007. It is ranked 16 in the NIRF Rankings 2020 of Indian engineering universities.
NIT Rourkela was ranked 801–1000 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2020 and 190 in Asia. In India it was ranked 16 among engineering colleges(including IITs)by the MHRD by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2020 and 32 overall. With this NIT Rourkela has bagged top position among the institutes in Odisha.

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is a public technical university located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It has been declared to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. Established in 2008, IIT Gandhinagar campus is spread over 400 acres of land along the river Sabarmati.
Among engineering colleges, IIT Gandhinagar was ranked 18th by India Today in 2020. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked it 24th among engineering institutes in 2020, and 35st overall. IIT Gandhinagar is known for its unique ideology of treating students as adults. Students are given freedom in every respect ranging from choosing their own student leaders, conducting the fests, summits and events without any intervention from the institute’s administration, no hostel/campus restricted movements or timings and much more.

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad or IITH) is a public technical university located in Sangareddy district, Telangana, India. IITH was founded in 2008, among the eight young Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It has a total of 3,903 students (1,553 Undergraduate, 1,221 Masters and 1,129 PhD students) with 255 full-time faculty members as Jan 15, 2022.
ITI Hyderabad was ranked 591–600 in the world by the QS World University Rankings 2022 list; it was also ranked 201 in Asia in 2020. In India, IIT Hyderabad was ranked 8 among engineering institutes by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2021 and 16 overall. IIT Hyderabad is also ranked Top-7 institute as per ARIIA 2021 released by the Ministry of Education, Innovation Cell. IIT Hyderabad has 110 laboratories on the campus, of which 50 are exclusively for research. Over 80% of the faculty has either one sponsored research project or a consulting project. The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is a private university in the Indian city of Dehradun. Since 2019, it has been in Academic Collaboration with Global University Systems. Established in 2003 through the UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand, UPES is a UGC-recognized university. The University has received 5-Stars on Employability (placements), Academic Development Program Strength and campus facilities and 4-Stars for overall teaching by QS Rating. UPES offers graduate and postgraduate programs through its eight schools: School of Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Design, School of Law, School of Business, School of Health Sciences, School of Modern Media and School of Liberal Studies. In 2013, UPES was acquired by the US-based Laureate International Universities network. In 2019, UPES, Dehradun entered into an academic collaboration with Global University Systems (GUS) by signing an MoU for education, training and research cooperation.

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) is a private deemed university located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Founded by the late Dr M. V. V. S. Murthi in 1980 in Visakhapatnam, it also has campus in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. It was previously affiliated with Andhra University under the name GITAM College, then gained autonomy status in the year 2007. GITAM is the first private engineering institute in the state to receive the University status.

Chitkara University is a private university located in Rajpura, Punjab, India. It offers undergraduate programs, post-graduate program and doctoral programs in fields of engineering, management, pharmacy, health sciences, nursing, hospitality, art & design and education. It was established and is managed by the Chitkara Educational Trust. Chitkara’s 50 acre main campus is located 33.1 km from Chandigarh.

The University of Allahabad is a collegiate central university located in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established on 23 September 1887 by an Act of Parliament and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance (INI). It is one of the oldest modern universities in India. Its origins lie in the Muir Central College, named after Lt. Governor of North-Western Provinces, Sir William Muir in 1876, who suggested the idea of a Central University at Allahabad, which later evolved to the present university. At one point, it was known as the “Oxford of the East”. Its Central University status was re-established through the University of Allahabad Act 2005 by the Parliament of India.

The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, formerly Baroda College, is a public university in the city of Vadodara, in Gujarat state, India. Originally established as a college in 1881, it became a university in 1949 after the independence of the country. It was later renamed after its benefactor Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the former ruler of Baroda State. The university offers undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral programs. It houses 89 departments spread over 6 campuses (2 rural and 4 urban) covering 275 acres of land.
The university has its origins in the Baroda College, established in 1881 by Baroda State. The main building, which houses the Faculty of Arts, was designed by Robert Fellowes Chisholm in Indo-Saracenic architecture style, in a fusion of Indian and Byzantine arches and domes in brick and polychrome stone. The main dome on the convocation hall was modelled after the great dome of the Gol Gumbaz in Bijapur.

The University of Hyderabad is a prestigious public central research university located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The University of Mysore is a public state university in Mysore, Karnataka, India. The university was founded during the reign of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the Maharaja of Mysore. The university is recognized by University Grants Commission for offering higher studies degree courses on-campus as well as online. It opened on 27 July 1916. Its first chancellor was the Maharaja of Mysore; the first Vice-Chancellor was H. V. Nanjundaiah. The university became the first outside the British administration in India, the sixth in India as a whole, and the first in Karnataka.

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), is a public state university located in Kalyani, West Bengal, India. It is funded completely by the Government of West Bengal. It was established in 2001 by the West Bengal legislature. The university provides management and engineering degrees through affiliated colleges and in-house departments.
The university has a main campus covering approximately 40 acres at Haringhata, provided by the Government of West Bengal. Hostels accommodate both male and female students. The university has 25 departments and centers in seven schools. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology is an affiliating institution and has jurisdiction over the entire state of West Bengal. As of 2021, it had 198 affiliated colleges. Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), formerly Kanpur University, is a public state university located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is administered under the state legislature of the government of Uttar Pradesh.
The campus is spread across 264 acres. Kanpur University was established in 1966 when Agra University split into Agra and Kanpur universities. Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (BIT Mesra) is a government institute in Jharkhand, India. It was established in the year 1955 at Mesra, Ranchi by the industrialist B. M. Birla. The institute was later headed by G.P Birla and the present chairman of the board of governors is C.K Birla. It was declared as a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act.
It was ranked 38th among engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2020, 66th among universities and 85th overall. NIRF has also ranked BIT Mesra 16th in the pharmacy ranking and 58th in the management ranking. In 1986 BIT was elevated to the status of deemed university under sec‑on 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. BIT was the first institute in India to establish a department of space engineering and rocketry, in 1964. BIT has established extension centres in cities within the country, in Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Noida, Patna, Deoghar and Lalpur and overseas, in Muscat and Ras al-Khaimah.

Jadavpur University is a public technical university located in Jadavpur, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. It was established in 1905 as Bengal Technical Institute and was converted into Jadavpur University in 1955. In 2020, it was ranked fi h among universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
Jadavpur University is semi-residential, which at present operates out of two urban campuses: one in Jadavpur (58 acres (230,000 m2)) and another in Salt Lake (26 acres (110,000 m2)). University of Kerala, formerly the University of Travancore, is a collegiate public state university located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It was established in 1937 by a promulgation of the Maharajah of Travancore, Sri Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma who was also the first Chancellor of the university. Sir C. P Ramaswamy Iyer, the then Diwan (Prime Minister) of the State was the first Vice-Chancellor. It was the first university in Kerala, and among the first in the country. National Institute Of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar or NITS) is one of the 31 NITs of India and was established in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Silchar. In 2002, it was upgraded to the status of National Institute of Technology and was declared as Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007.

Nirma University (NU) is a private university located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It functions under the aegis of the Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF). The Gujarat Government has granted “Centre of Excellence” status to Nirma University. The university received the Centre for Excellence status from the Government of Gujarat in January 2022.

Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) is a veterinary university founded in 1989 in Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai, India. It is composed of the Madras Veterinary College, Vepery, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli; Veterinary College and Research Institute, Orathanadu, Thanjavur and the Institute of Food and Dairy Technology, Koduvalli, Chennai-52. Research farms are for leprosy bacteria, for prawn and edible fish culture, and for animal feed safety. The institution now operating as a university was established in 1876 and became a college in 1903, with 20 students at Dobbin Hall, Chennai. The three-year diploma course, Graduate of Madras Veterinary College, was then offered. The Government of Tamil Nadu established the university on 20 September 1989 through the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Act, 1989 (Tamil Nadu Act 42 of 1989).

Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is a public medical university in Chandigarh, India. It is an ‘Institute of National Importance’ (INI). It has educational, medical research, and training facilities for its students including all specialties, super specialties and sub specialties. It is the leading tertiary care hospital of the region and caters to patients from all over Punjab, J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Haryana. National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut or NITC), formerly Regional Engineering College Calicut, is a public technical university and an institute of national importance governed by the NIT Act passed by the Parliament of India. The campus is situated 22 kilometres (14 mi) north east of Kozhikode, on the Kozhikode–Mukkam Road. It was established in 1961 and was known as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC) until 2002. It is one of the National Institutes of Technology campuses established by the Government of India for imparting high standard technical education to students from all over the country. The institute includes eleven academic departments, eight centres departments, 8 centers and three schools. The departments include Architecture and Planning, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Physical Education as well as five engineering determinants for Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), also known as NITK Surathkal, formerly known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), is a public technical university at Surathkal, Mangalore. It was founded in 1960 as KREC while today, it is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. It has a suburban campus, in close proximity to the Arabian Sea. National Highway 66 runs through the campus and serves as the major mode of access. NITK Surathkal offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Engineering, Science and Management. The institute has 14 departments and 11 support centres with about 200 faculty members, 300 support staff, 5,500 students and 26,500 alumni worldwide. NITK is 8th among government engineering colleges by Outlook India in 2021 and 14th among engineering colleges by The Week in 2019.

Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) is a research and education institute in Chennai, India. It was founded by the SPIC Science Foundation in 1989, and offers undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes in physics, mathematics and computer science, besides its key strength in the form of high-end research in Mathematics. CMI is noted for its research in the field of algebraic geometry, in particular in the area of moduli of bundles.
CMI was earlier located in T. Nagar in the heart of Chennai in an office complex. It moved to a new 5-acre (20,000 m2) campus in Siruseri in October 2005. In December 2006, CMI was recognized as a university under Sec‑on 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956, making it a deemed university. Until then, the teaching program was o ered in association with Bhoj Open University, as it offered more flexibility. CMI moved into its new campus on 5 acres (20,000 m2) of land at the SIPCOT Information Technology Park in Siruseri in October, 2005.

The Indian Maritime University (IMU) is a central university in India which deals with a wide range of topics related to the sea, ranging from oceanography to maritime law and history, and including practical topics such as search and rescue at sea and the transportation of dangerous goods. It was established by the Indian Maritime University Act 2008, on 14 November 2008. It has an All-India jurisdiction and the headquarters is at Chennai. It has six campuses in Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai Port, Navi Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam. Gauhati University, also known as GU, is a collegiate public state university located in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established in 26 January 1948 under the provisions of an Act enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. It is the oldest university in Northeast India. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), formerly Thapar University, is a deemed-to-be-university, in Patiala, India. It was founded in 1956 by Karam Chand Thapar. The campus is housed in a 250-acre land in the heart of Patiala and has six old academic blocks. Thapar University plans to set up two campuses over the next five years: one on a 14-acre (57,000 m2) campus near Chandigarh and another in Chhatisgarh. Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-Allahabad) is a public university located in Jhalwa, Allahabad (Prayagraj), in Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the nineteen Indian Institutes of Information Technology listed by the Ministry of Education (India). The institute was established in 1999 and designated a “Deemed University” in 2000. In 2014 the IIIT Act was passed, under which IIITA and four other Institutes of Information Technology funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development were classed as Institutes of National Importance. IIT-Allahabad was ranked 119 in the BRICS nations by the QS World University Rankings of 2019 and 351-400 in Asia in 2020. Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) is a public state university located at Madurai city in southern Tamil Nadu, India, established in 1966. MKU is one of the 15 universities in India with ‘University with Potential for Excellence’ status which is awarded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in India. In 2021, the university has been awarded ‘A++’ grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 4th cycle. The university was established in 1966 as Madurai University. In 1978, the name was changed to Madurai Kamaraj University to honour K. Kamaraj, former Chief Minister of Madras State. There are 121 colleges and institutions under MKU which include 16 aided colleges, 24 autonomous colleges (including both government and self financed), 4 constituent colleges, 1 MKU college, 5 MKU evening colleges, 57 self financed colleges and 14 approved institutions. The National Law School of India University is a public law school and a National Law University located in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was the first National Law University to be established in India as well as one of the first in the country to offer the five-year integrated undergraduate law degree, post graduate law degree and doctorate law degree. The National Law School of India University was established by a statute passed by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Karnataka. The statute states that Chief Justice of India serves as the school’s chancellor. The day-to-day management and administration of the university is undertaken by the Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Sudhir Krishnaswamy is the current Vice-Chancellor of the university. The school is known for its highly competitive admissions. It has an intake of around 120 students in its undergraduate law programme, 40 in Masters of Law and 50 in its Master of Public Policy programme.

Patna University is a public state university in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established on 1 October 1917 during the British Raj. It is the first university in Bihar and the seventh oldest university in the Indian subcontinent in the modern era. It offers different undergraduate and postgraduate degree level courses. Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly known as the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) is a state university in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic. In 1952, it started giving degrees after being affiliated with the University of Delhi. The institute has been under the Government of Delhi since 1963 and was affiliated with the University of Delhi from 1952 to 2009. APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, also known as Kerala Technological University (KTU), is a state government university located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It is both a teaching and affiliation university, with more than 150 affiliated colleges and over 160,000 students enrolled, having jurisdiction over the entire area of Kerala. It is an AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and UGC (University Grants Commission) approved university that offers UG and PG courses under popular streams such as BTech, BArch, BHMCT, MTech, M.Arch, MBA, and MCA. The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is a civil services training institute for the one of the central civil services Group ‘A’ Gazetted cadre known as Indian Trade Service cadre , located in New Delhi, India. The institute was established as a Centre of Excellence in International Trade and Business in 1963 by Government of India. As of 2021, it is as an autonomous educational institute under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. It was granted “Deemed to be University” status in 2002. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has recognized IIFT as Grade ‘A’ Institution in 2005 as well as in 2015. The IIFT Delhi campus is located in Qutub Institutional Area, overlooking green ridge and historical Qutub Minar. The campus spread over 6.5 acres of land houses two academic blocks and two residential blocks for students and visiting faculty. Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune (IISER Pune) is an autonomous public university established in 2006. It is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, and was one of the first IISERs to be established along with IISER Kolkata. It is located in the city of Pune, India.
The construction of the final campus was completed in 2012. The campus is of 98 acres. IISER Pune offers integrated masters programmes (BS-MS), an integrated doctoral programme (Int. Devi Ahilya University (informally abbreviated DAVV), formerly Indore University, is a State University whose jurisdiction was initially restricted to Indore city. Later on, its jurisdiction was extended to seven tribal-dominated districts of Indore division namely, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur and Barwani. Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya formerly University of Indore was established in 1964 by an Act of Legislature of Madhya Pradesh. In 1988, the university was renamed after the Holkar Maharani ‘Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar’ of the Maratha Empire as ‘Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya’. It is an Institute of National Importance. IIT (ISM) has 18 academic departments covering Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Management programs. It was formerly known as Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad before its conversion into an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). IT (ISM) Dhanbad is located in the mineral-rich region of India, in the city of Dhanbad. It is the third oldest institute (after IIT Roorkee, and IIT (BHU) Varanasi) which got converted into an IIT.

Ashoka University is a private university located in Sonipat, Haryana, India, focusing on liberal arts and sciences. It was established in 2014 by a group of philanthropists. Ashoka University derives its name from Emperor Ashoka. The idea was generated while in talks with IIT Delhi students. They later approached the former Indian School of Business dean Pramath Raj Sinha for his help in setting up a university that would be of a different calibre than that of the then higher education in India. The project was code-named Project Nobel, referring to the founders’ aspiration to produce future Nobel Prize laureates. At the same me, Sanjeev Bikhchandani and Ashish Dhawan also approached Pramath with a vision of a university, and Pramath combined the two visions. Ashoka University’s 25-acre (10 ha) main campus is in the Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Sonepat, Haryana.

Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is an advanced research and educational institution in Mumbai. India. The Institute’s mission is to carry out research on developmental issues from a multi-disciplinary point of view. This includes economics, energy and environmental policy. Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1968. It was designated an Indian Institute of Technology in 2012. Basic facilities like circulation, scanning, printing, photocopying amenities are also available in this Wi-Fi-enabled library.
